Junior Participates in 9/11 Memorial Service

On the anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, the community gathered at Battleship Cove in Fall River on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, for a remembrance ceremony at the 9/11 memorial site, which included a wreath casting and a 21-gun salute from one of the battleships.

With speakers, musical tributes, and moments of silence, our very own, Chris Christopulos '26 participated in the ceremony, helping release doves at the beginning of the ceremony.

Chris's great-uncle and retired New Bedford fire chief, Roger Nadeau (below), brought Engine 266, a restored 1986 truck in honor of his brother, Fall River District Fire Chief Gerald W. Nadeau, who died in the line of duty in 2002. The truck is used to carry first responders to their final resting places and serve as a memorial to those who have died in the line of duty.

On the truck, was a memorial to Fr. Mychal Judge, the NYFD Chaplain who was killed in the attacks on 9/11/2001. Included in the memorial to Fr. Mychal Judge was his service badge that wore when he passed on 9/11.

We thank all of those who serve our country, and everyone, including Chris, for continuing to honor and remember the legacies of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
